Can your services help me?

I focus on relationships, either with yourself or your partner, spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, parents, children, or other close relationships.  You may find that you have been thinking or feeling one or more of the following:

What is your therapeutic approach?

My approach is informed by psychodynamic therapy, emotion-focused therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, mindfulness practice, and attachment theory.   I also integrate sensorimotor psychotherapy (focusing on the effects on the nervous system and body) when dealing with the legacy effects of trauma.   With couples I work from a psychobiological and emotion-focused therapy approach.

How often will I have to attend?

My approach is best supported by longer-term weekly or bi-weekly psychotherapy.  I encourage clients to commit to weekly sessions at the beginning in order to build a strong rapport and gain momentum in the therapeutic process.

Where are you located?

My office is in downtown Toronto, on Danforth Avenue just one block west of Chester Avenue and Chester subway station.  I also offer phone sessions if this is more convenient for you.

What are your hours?

I am available for sessions Monday to Wednesday, 10am to 6 or 7pm, depending on the day.  I do not work later evenings or on weekends.

What are your rates and what form of payment do you accept?

My rate is $130 for individual and $150 for couples, per session.  I offer sliding scale in certain circumstances, which can be discussed by phone beforehand.  I accept cash , cheque and EMT.  Sessions are 50 minutes.

Are you covered by health benefits or insurance?

Most health plans cover psychotherapy services by a Registered Psychotherapist, for which I can provide a receipt.
